Hi Everyone. We hope you’re enjoying this reprieve from the heat as much as we’re enjoying it. Though we aren’t ready for summer to leave, this New England-feel is really nice.
We will be at Greensboro tomorrow. Please send your requests by email and look for us with Summer’s Farm. You probably won’t find us at Saxapahaw except maybe on the hill listening to music.
This week at the Carrboro Market we’ll have fresh lamb, goat, pork and duck. Tomatoes have come in strong this week and are probably on their way out so this is the time to can and make your sauces. We have lots of delicious little ripe tomatoes. The melons are also almost finished. Come get the last of the sugar baby watermelons, cantaloupes, and honey dews. We will also have okra, eggplant, cucumbers, peppers, onions, potatoes and garlic. This week we planted the last of the sweet potatoes, butternut squash and delicata squash. We have chicken and duck eggs though not as many duck eggs. The ducks have been hiding from the heat and sitting on nests. We have six new ducklings and more on the way.
Hope this newsletter finds you well. Come see us tomorrow at market!
