We burned rotten pieces of a falling down barn this past weekend. The wind was in the right direction and the ground wasn’t that dry. It was an epic fire. It burned fast and we are left with many charred nails to pick up.
Power is coming to the land any day now. Once there is power, we can put in electric fences and start moving animals to the land. The goats and pigs are especially excited for all the good food growing there.
At the Carrboro Farmers’ Market
First 9am market of the season!
Meat: This week we still have BBQ and most of our pork products except for bacon. We will hopefully have that by next week.
We’ve got goat – try mixing ground goat and ground pork for delicious burgers.
Eggs are at an all-time low as chickens are molting. Reserve yours by writing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Veggies: We’ve got baby lettuce, radishes, and salad turnips fresh from our high tunnel.
This is the first week of the 9am-noon Saturday market. The Wednesdays market goes until Thanksgiving.
