I suppose if we’re going to have multiple days of cold and wet during the week, the weekends are a nice choice for sunshine especially if you have to stand outside at market. Last weekend, we played with crowbars and removed tin from old tobacco and peanut barns near Ahoskie, NC. It was a trip down history lane and we have some pretty cool fixtures to add to the land in Saxapahaw. Looking forward to seeing what can be put together this long weekend. Winter can be fun too.
At the Carrboro Farmers’ Market
This week at market – more of our beautiful hakuri turnips, beet greens, and collards and cabbage. We have duck, lamb, goat and fresh chorizo, bratwurst and ossabaw chops. We’re running low on prosciutto but have lots of bacon. The butcher trailer is close to being ready. We are doing a dry run of coolers and water heater and supplies this morning. Stay tuned. Each week we bring new products out in the butcher shop and can’t wait to bring them to you at the market. Can’t thank you enough for your support in both locations.
