We’ve had calls and well wishes from all over – thank you for being concerned about the animals and the cold. They’ve done surprisingly well, including yesterday’s sensible sow making a nest in the woods out of the wind and having 12 babies all of whom made it through the night. Willy and Eliza spent the week battoning everyone down, carrying buckets of water from the house, and imagining a rope swing on a hot summer day.
Animals get to make their own decisions about how to stay warm (see the piglet and chicken picture).
We will be at market with fresh product tomorrow including fresh chorizo (yay!). We’ll have fresh, skin on pork chops, ribs, belly and shoulder as well as duck, leg of lamb, and smoked sausages and bacon. We have some breakfast sausage and lots more eggs. Italian sausage as well as other awesome pork product from Cane Creek is available at Left Bank Butchery. Product updates on Left Bank Butchery’s Facebook.
